Watching these girls reminded me of my own group of friends that I had the privilege of growing up with in Waterloo, Ontario…

Feels like 5 lifetimes ago...but at the same time it can feel like yesterday. Do you know that feeling?

I can remember all the shenanigans we’d get up to. Going to hang out at each other’s houses after school, making up silly games to play at recess time, playing tricks on each other, making each other laugh, watching Baywatch (yes, really - I can still sing the theme song by heart), eating snacks, having sleepovers, going to choir practice, dance class…I didn’t realize how lucky we were at the time to have each other. Now I do.

When I saw these girls wandering down Hermannstraße, right near my flat, in their matching pants and bags, and similar hair, I couldn’t help but smile.

The bright colors mirrored their energy...

Girl power, all the way.
